Cowwarr Art Space

Recast muses on my experience of travelling to India, bringing together a number of works made since 2002. Within the context of my own art practice I remake or reconsider the patterns I encountered. Recast shifts motifs, ideas and experiences through time and space to sift out what is most important; people, relationships, beauty and joy. The kind of life force that buzzes in the energy of an Indian evening market and the surging line of a textile pattern pulsates through the work.

Respected musician and writer Linda Neil has produced a soundscape to accompany the exhibition. The soundscape gives the viewer another way to encounter the work revealing additional layers of the artmaking process and my intent.
