  1. Nan Borsht at Graydon Gallery
 Nan Borsht's solo exhibition - remnants - at Graydon Gallery (29 Merthyr Rd, New Farm), Qld. Ph: 07 3254 2325) runs 12 - 24 July.

"These works take the viewer into the secret world of the remnant rainforest, a forgotten place where the giant trees preside over the comings and goings on the forest floor. Such wonders which the wandering artist and her canine companions encounter, are revealed along these tracks less travelled."

  2. John Flitcroft at Doggett Street Studio
John Flitcroft's new exhibition - 146 days... - at Doggett Street Studio (85 Doggett Street, Newstead, Qld. Ph: 07 3252 9292) opens on 29 July and runs to 20 August.

The works depict realistic, detailed works in ink on canvas, and commencing this August, in conjunction with Jon Linkins Printroom Editions, various works of John Flitcroft will be available as limited edition print reproductions.

  3. Robyn Bauer shows new miniatures
Robyn Bauer is showing a new series of miniature collages - Garden Secrets - using plants, flowers  and garden dwellers as a starting point.   4. Congratulations to Abramo Papp
 Abramo Papp recently won the Hangers Prize at the BIA Members Exhibition with his work - Sundowners 3.

He also now has greeting cards available of his artworks - Moreton Bay Series and Nautical Themes.

  5. Helen Malone selected for Book Prize
Helen Malone has had three artists books selected for the Artists Book Award - Books...beyond words evolution to be held at the East Gippsland Art Gallery (2 Nicholson Street, Bairnsdale, Victoria) from 6 August to 3 September.

Selected books are The River City (about the Brisbane flood), Beautiful One Day, Blown Away the Next (about cyclone Yasi) and Silence is not Golden.

  6. Two John Weeronga Bartoo shows
John Weeronga Bartoo has an exhibtion - Cotton and Paper - at Pepperina Gallery (Nobby. Ph: 4696 3353) which is on until 16 August.

John is also taking part in the group exhibition - Weeronga Bartoo & Friends - at the Art & Crafts Gallery (Lightning Ridge. Ph: 02 6829 4407) which opens on 28 July (6pm) and runs to 10 August.

  7. The inaugural Inkmasters Members exhibition
Laurel McKenzie, Margaret Genever and Sasi Victoire are part of the Inaugural Inkmasters Members Exhibition which is currently running at Circa 1907 Contemporary Artspace (City Place, Cairns, Qld) until 7 July.

This newly-formed Cairns printmakers group is helping to bring wider public knowledge of traditional and contemporary printmaking processes.

  8. Anita West commissions set for Abu Dhabi
Anita West has completed 8 commissions for TVH Gallery in Sydney following her sell out show, and has secured two large commissions for the Presidential Suites of the Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi.

Anita has also been asked to paint two large commissioned works for the foyer of the SOUL apartment building on the Gold Coast, based on her landscape series.

  9. Sue Beyer prepares for solo show

Sue Beyer, chosen as a finalist in the Sunshine Coast Art Prize, now has a series of small works on canvas paper available. The studies and small paintings were created in preparation for her first solo exhibition at the Art Factory gallery (South Brisbane, Qld) (26 - 30 August).

The works painted from 2008 - 2011 are priced from $60.

  10. Elizabeth Shaw at Artisan

  11. Nicola Moss - new works on paper
 Nicola Moss's recent series - Integral parts of therefore I am - exploring ecological connections of her immediate environment, is currently showing at Anita Traverso Gallery (7 Albert Street, Richmond, Vic. Ph: 03 9428 7557).

  12. Nick Ashby at Redland Art Gallery

  13. Dave Groom involved in community mural project
Dave Groom has joined forces with another painter of the Scenic Rim, John Jackson (The Rock Doctor) and writer, Sally MacKinnon, to help create a series of community murals as part of 'The Rim' project.

The murals are created by community members who have turned up to Arts in the Olives at Lost World Valley and World Environment Day at Boonah. The theme and inspiration for the murals is the landscape of the Scenic Rim.  The murals will be exhibited at The Centre in Beaudesert early next year.

  14. Tony White - Waterlines
Waterlines is Tony White's first exhibition at Metro Arts Gallery (Studio 4.2, Level 4, 109 Edward St Brisbane, Qld. Ph: (07) 3002 710), and consists of paintings and work on paper which explore the role of water as an agent for ecological transformation.

The show opens on Thursday 7 July (6-8.30pm) and runs to 9 July.

  15. Nicky Carey a Charlatan Ink Prize finalist
Nicky Carey’s painting was recently preselected as a semi-finalist (top 100) in the Charlatan Ink Prize 2011 in New York.  The theme for this year’s entries was “Where do we come from? What are we? Where are we going? The finalists will be announced at the end of July.

Nicky’s painting - What happens to all the little boys who don’t say their prayers - depicts dream-like imagery and story telling from his childhood in a religious Ireland in the 70s and 80s.

Kathryn Brimblecombe-Fox
has updated her website to include two new  galleries - Paradise and Landscape.

Nick Olsen was recently awarded the prestigous Royal Overseas League travelling Scholarship for 2011. This scholarship involves a fully funded 4 week residency at Hospitalfield House, Scotland. Nick will return to the UK in 2012 to exhibit work produced during the residency at the Gallery@OXO (London's Southbank).

Tony Nugent won 1st Prize at 2010 Australian Whipmaker & Plaiters Association, Glen Innes, NSW.

Megan Jones has recently been selected as a finalist in two art prize competitions: the Mount Eyre Art Prize (exhibited in Rex-Livingston Gallery, Sydney) and the Lethbridge 10000 (as an online finalist). Both works have been inspired by her experience on a residency in Germany last year.

In 2007, Di West painted Stirling Mortlock for The Archibald, and recently she heard that Gordon Rugby Club (Sydney) were holding a tribute dinner for Stirling and were holding an auction to raise funds for the Club. Di decided to donate the painting and it raised nearly $2000. Live Life Villages in Robertson also awarded Di the Overall Acquisitive Prize for her sculpture - Hello Sailor.

Robyn Dansie has updated her website with several exciting new works exploring mixed media and collage.  Robyn who works from her studio in Fitzroy, Melbourne, is working toward completing a comprehensive body of work with the view of staging an exhibition in 2012.
