  Heinz Riegler in Salzburg's Kapitelplatz

Drawing heavily on time spent high in the Austrian alps, Heinz Riegler's new work - Auflösung - examines themes of isolation and repetition using materials mostly found in and around the Oberpleissling area of Salzburg state. The work contains six pieces which are currently in Salzburg's Kapitelplatz square until 7 September.

The other parts of the series include an album of music - Survey #2 (One Thousand Dreams I Never Had) and an award winning audiovisual piece - Motion Portrait #1.

  Helena Lloyd  - Artist Residency at Eumarella Shores

Helena Lloyd is working on a 4 month artist residency at Eumarella Shores, Lake Weyba on the Sunshine Coast. She will be conducting artist workshops and producing a body of work focusing on the rich, natural, and fragile biodiversity of the area. This work will culminate in an end of year art show to be held at Eumarella Shores.

  Susan Buret part of Six Pack

Susan Buret has several works in the exhibition - Six Pack - at  the Goulburn Regional Gallery (Cnr Bourke & Church Streets, Goulburn, NSW. Ph: 02 4823 4494) from 24 August to 15 September 2012. The exhibition will be opened by Elizabeth Charles on Saturday 25 August (2pm)  and the opening will be followed by a panel discussion with the six exhibiting artists.

  New Robyn Bauer exhibition
 Robyn Bauer is holding a new solo show - Terra Australis - Kangaroos and Other Discoveries - continuing her preoccupation with the story of the French explorers to Australia in the late 18th century. The exhibition runs at Robyn Bauer Studio Gallery (54 Latrobe Tce, Paddington, Qld. Ph: 07 35116380) from 4-29 September with the official opening on 8 September (6pm).

  Inkmasters Print Exhibition 2012

 Inkmasters Print Exhibition 2012 features invited artists from around the country, works created by GW Bot, Rew Hanks and Michael Kempson (who took up residencies in Cairns this year), and works by local artists who participated in the Artists in Residence workshops.
The exhibition at Tanks Arts Centre (Collins Ave, Cairns, Qld. Ph: 07 4032 6609) is currently showing and continues to 22 August. Laurel McKenzie, Margaret Genever and Sasi Victoire are amongst the selected artists.

  Lindy Sale - We are as clouds
Lindy Sale's exhibition - We are as clouds - imagines the beauty and oddness in nature as it adapts to a precariously balanced environment.   Sue Beyer - Public Art Commissions
Sue Beyer's work has been chosen to appear in Urban Easels, an initiative created by the Brisbane City Council, with the artist's work presented in Adshel street furniture (13 August – 9 September 2012).

Sue's work has also been profiled in the July - September (Winter) Live guide which promotes arts and cultural events, workshops and activities across Brisbane.

Sue has also been commissioned to create artworks for a new hospital expansion in South East Queensland. Woodhead Architects have designed the building which is is due to be completed in 2014.

  David Henderson at Graydon Gallery
 David Henderson will be holding an exhibition of recent paintings and drawings which opens on Friday 24 August and continues until 2 September at Graydon Gallery (29 Merthyr Road, New Farm, Qld).   Catherine Mc Cue Boes at BSL
Catherine Mc Cue Boes has been invited to showcase her artist books in a group exhibition - In The Light of Small Things - opening on Friday 7 September 2012 at the Brisbane Square Library (266 George Street, Brisbane, Qld. Ph: 07 34034166). Catherine describes her work as reactionary; producing works on paper and artist books has been her main objective for the past ten years.   Nicola Moss part of Natural History Art Prize
Nicola Moss's work on paper - Life on the edge - High tide - was selected for exhibition in The Waterhouse Natural History Art Prize which is currently on show at the South Australian Museum (Adelaide, SA) until Sunday 9 September. The prize celebrates our intricate and complex global biodiversity, whilst giving artists the opportunity to interpret the beauty and fragility of the natural world.   Anita West - In The Summertime
Anita West's solo exhibition - In The Summertime - opens at the Trevor Victor Harvey Gallery in Sydney on 7 September for 3 weeks. All 26 of the paintings are inspired by a lifetime of visiting QLD and NSW beaches. Anita will also be the feature artist at the Manly Arts Festival 2012.   Rachael Lee - Dimensions NC
Rachael Lee will be exhibiting works on 11-12 August at the Nudgee College Arts Festival (Tierney Auditorium, St Joseph's Nudgee College, 2199 Sandgate Road, Boondall, Qld) - Dimensions NC - as a past winner (2008). The college is celebrating previous winners over the last ten years, as well as students, the feature artist and the art comp entrants.

  Milkana Kirova finishes Townsville water feature
Brisbane-based Artist Milkana Kirova was commissioned to create the custom art panels that form the base of a water feature in Townsville’s North Shore Town Square. Milkana sculpted in clay the relief for the colour glass reinforced panels in March 2012. The Town Square was completed in July and now hosts NQ markets every fortnight.   Robyn Dansie dream exhibition

  Print exhibition continues
Printshop is a cooperative project organised by Jon Linkins and a group of 8 artists and 2 photographers collaborating in the production of high quality, affordable and collectable, editioned prints on fine art paper.

Their latest exhibition continues at Doggett Street Studio, Brisbane, includes the works of Anita Hochman, Nicky Carey (pictured), Chris Booth, Jon Linkins, Christopher Jones, John Flitcroft, Mark Dean and Danny Guinsberg.

  Good Luck to Prize Finalists

Michael Donnelly is a finalist in the 2012 Mandorla Art Award (Perth Town Hall, Cnr Hay Street and Barrack Street, Perth, WA. Ph: 08 9339 7543) with the work Elizabeth and Mary. The exhibition opens 10 August and continues to 19 August.

Tony White (pictured) has been selected as one of 40 finalists in the 2012 Sunshine Coast Art Prize 2D who will be showcased at Caloundra Regional Gallery (22 Omrah Avenue, Caloundra, Qld) from 15 August to 7 October 2012. The selected work Big But Small  can be seen (and voted for the Peoples' Prize) here.

Joyce Blanche was recently selected as a finalist in the Corangamarah Art Prize held at the Otway Estate Winery in July.

Bron Hayes has been selected as a finalist in the inaugural $10,000Wilson Visual Art Award, Lismore with her diptych - Riverina Bark. The exhibition is held at Trinity Catholic College (1 Dawson Street, Lismore, NSW) from 23-25 August.
