  1. Doggett Street Studio Christmas exhibition

The Doggett Street Studio (85 Doggett St, Newstead, Qld. Ph: 07 3252 9292) Christmas show - affordable works - opens on Friday 7 December (6-8pm) and continues to Saturday 15 Dec.  St Vincent's Private Hospital Toowoomba (Scott Street) is commemorating 90 years service to the Darling Downs Community. As part of the celebrations, Hazel Mary Cope has a solo show - Celebration of Care - which is on now until April 2013 at Entrance 2.

  5. Robyn Dansie - Pop Power
Robyn Dansie's latest show - Pop Power - is on now at 1 Spring St Art (Level 2, 1 Spring St (Cnr Flinders St), Melbourne, Vic) until 18 January 2013. Robyn is exhibiting an eclectic series of mixed media paintings and acrylic works on canvas exploring a variety of themes.

  7. Margaret Wilson - Thresholds retrospective
Thresholds: Images from Music, Reverie and Place, is the first retrospective to survey thirty years of consistent practice by Margaret Wilson. The exhibition was curated by Anne Kirker and is on now at the Perc Tucker Regional Gallery (Townsville, Qld) until 17 February 2013.

The exhibition includes several series of nuanced abstract paintings and works on paper that are philosophically attuned as well as steeped in the landscapes with which she is familiar.

  8. Anita West - 12 Days of Christmas

  9. Aria Stone – Finalist M16 Drawing Prize

 
Aria Stone has been chosen as a finalist in the M16 Artspace Drawing Prize. Allyson Reynolds  has just released a new limited edition artist print from her Moths series and can been viewed on her website.  

More artists are embracing the opportunities presented by advances in printing technologies to produce collectable and affordable small edition prints of stunning quality not seen before.
Wolfgang Tillmans discussing this exciting advancement in the current edition of ARTFORUM said:  "The experience of pure colour has been heightened to a new level:  That is where I think there has been a seismic change in technology, what [David] Hockney referred to as colours that have not been possible before, colours with deep richness.  The quality of ink and ink-jet printing has become even more amazing in recent years and manufacturers are now using pigmented ink, which lasts much longer than traditional C-type colour photographs".
