"A Year in the Life 2019-2020". This year was a year of changes & setbacks for many. This exhibition is my artistic response to the bushfires, pandemic, and its effect on people & landscapes. It is an experience reinforced by my research on four well-known German artists: Gerhard Richter, Markus Lupertz, Neo Rauch & Anton Henning.
The exhibition is arranged in four sections: 1. The German Artists: "The Needleworker", "Chance", "Anton was Here I" & "Anton was Here II". 2. People & the Pandemic: "Mother & Daughter", "Empty Streets", "Spanish Rooftops", "Girl with Guitar" & "Looking out to Sea". 3. The Bushfire Series comprises: "Fire in Suburbia", "Fire Relics", "Fire Beechmont", "The Burning Tree", "The Burnt-out Car" & "Save My Country". 4. The Landscape Series includes: "Seaside Village", "The Lost Children, "Pink Moon", "Rockpool" & "Castle of Dreams".
