Prints on handmade cottonrag paper and retted plant fibres

In this series of prints I have made string surfaces & arranged bast fibre to create a texture to print from onto wet sheets of paper.
Freshly pulled sheets of cotton rag are embossed as one form of printmaking. This is called blind embossing requiring no ink.

This style of printing creates a deep impression into the surface of the paper only acheived from the use of cotton HMP.

By contrast, Waterscapes is made using a blend of collage and hikakagami technisues with botanical fibre papers.
