Teaching Appointments

Tutor in Mixed Media at Yurara Art Society, Thornlands, since 2005.

Tutor in a number of Private Workshops including Half Dozen Group of Artists, Sheldon College.

Gloria has enjoyed a life long appreciation of art, beginning with   early classes by teacher Helen Collings, and a unique series of sessions run by the renowned artist Vida Lahey. Helen always encouraged her pupils to enter the Eisteddfods which were held at the City Hall. Gloria gained a number of first prizes in design and pattern making. After many years in the workforce as an educator, which included developing and suporting Art Programs and Festivals for Primary School children, she has found fulfilment in the creation of works which still encompass design principles.

Her studies at the Arts Academy provided the theory, expert teaching and encouragement that not only developed her work, but encouraged a deeper appreciation of Art in both the historical and contemporary sense. These studies under the direction of Dr Christine Kirkgard and Dr Kay Kane have been paramount in her artistic development. Kiat Sng has influenced her approach to mixed media.

Gloria has shown in various galleries including Parliament House Annex in 2001 and Archibelle, and Festive Walk Event at the Charles Ginn Gallery.  Her works are in private colections in Canada, UK, the Netherlands and Brisbane. In 2005 she accepted full membership of the Half Dozen Group, and was approached by the Yurara Art Society to be part of their tutoring program.
